October’s Love List
October 23rd, 2009 1 commentOctober 30 marks two years on my own. My journey began with a single step and begins every morning with another. While many things I have read and studied over the past two years have helped comfort, bolster and even inspire, I still love the Tao’s quiet wisdom:
Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you. -Lao Tzu
I do feel as though there is nothing lacking in my life today. Even with a head cold and October snow (yes, it is snowing here), I am happy. This doesn’t mean I’m walking around with a permanent smile. Somedays, memories are stirred up or I see my glass is half empty. I am grateful to have wonderful people and activities around to keep me going. And I try to find peace in the quiet moments. I have been attending mass regularly and find that the rituals and the time off (sans iPhone, other distractions) keep me grounded.
So enough platitudes on to the Love List:
Autumn: apples, pumpkins, squash, blankets, knitting, and all the comfort of fall!!

Happy Anniversary! You know this now marks two years that we are friends. (We met on 10/15/07 if you’re curious). I am proud of you for how far you’ve come and I am happy to hear that you recognize and acknowledge your blessings and good fortune. You have a wonderfully full life and I am glad to be a part of it.
And happy early Halloween!
